PIEMONTE'S LARGEST-EVER PARTICIPATION AT THE INTERNATIONAL PARIS AIR SHOW
In the year that marks the 10th edition of Aerospace & Defense Meetings Torino, Piemonte reaffirms its role as a strategic hub for international partnerships and technological advancement in aerospace by attending the Paris Air Show with a 250 sqm exhibition area and 22 companies.
Torino, 16 June 2025 – Piemonte’s aerospace sector returns to the International Paris Air Show at Le Bourget from June 16 to 22. Located in Hall 1, within the official Italian area (AIAD – MoD), the Piemonte area spans 250 sqm and hosts 22 companies, including regional key players Mecaer Aviation Group and Microtecnica Actuation Systems. The Piemonte delegation, led by Regional Minister for Internationalization Andrea Tronzano, already has several meetings scheduled with major players in the aerospace industry.
This collective participation is organized by Piemonte Agency as part of the Integrated Supply Chain Project “Aerospace” funded by the PR FESR 2021–2027, and the International Promotion and Industrial Assets Enhancement Project funded by Regione Piemonte and the Torino Chamber of Commerce.
“Piemonte’s presence at the Paris Air Show is a key opportunity to reinforce our international positioning and highlight the technological and industrial excellence of our regional aerospace sector. This participation – state Regione Piemonte President Alberto Cirio and Regional Minister for Economic Development and Internationalization Andrea Tronzano – is the result of a joint effort uniting institutions, companies, and local stakeholders, aimed at attracting investment, promoting expertise, and creating new growth opportunities for the region.”
“Our long-standing presence at Le Bourget with top-performing companies continues to bring results in terms of international prestige, contracts, and new partnerships,” recalls Guido Bolatto, Secretary General of the Torino Chamber of Commerce. “This event also gives us a valuable chance to meet with potential foreign partners and showcase Piemonte as an attractive destination for investment—not only in aerospace. Another key goal is to promote the upcoming Aerospace & Defense Meetings, taking place this December in Torino.”
“The figures for Piemonte at this edition of the Paris Air Show are the highest ever,” notes Dario Peirone, Piemonte Agency’s Chairman. “With 22 companies gathered in a large central area—the largest we’ve ever arranged—this is the biggest delegation Piemonte Agency has organized at Le Bourget. It’s a strong signal ahead of the 10th Aerospace & Defense Meetings in Torino this December. Our ecosystem's appeal is also reflected in the 80 aerospace-related foreign companies currently evaluating investment opportunities in Piemonte. Together with our partners, Ceipiemonte uses the Paris Air Show not only to promote the excellence of our regional supply chain but also to strengthen relationships with potential investors. In this context, we are launching the ‘Invest in Piemonte’ roadshow in Paris, in collaboration with CastaldiPartners, specifically targeting the French market—an initiative that leverages our international network as a strategic driver for attracting qualified investment.”
Numerous key events are scheduled throughout the show. Among them, on 18 June the Piemonte stand will host the workshop "Unleashing the Sky’s Potential: Aerospace Excellence, Innovative Trends, and Investment Opportunities in Piemonte" to further boost the international visibility of the regional aerospace sector and present Piemonte’s strengths to international partners. Featured speakers include: Regional Minister Andrea Tronzano, Guido Cerrato (Head of Territorial Development and Market Regulation, Torino Chamber of Commerce), Piemonte Agency’s Chairman Dario Peirone, and representatives from leading international players based in Piemonte—Leonardo, Avio Aero, Thales Alenia Space, Altec, Microtecnica Actuation Systems, Mecaer Aviation Group, and Lockheed Martin. The event will offer a deep dive into Piemonte’s strategic role in aerospace, focusing on industrial capabilities, business opportunities, investment prospects, and the adoption of advanced technologies in fields such as manufacTorinog, engineering, propulsion, automation, unmanned systems, additive manufacTorinog, and the emerging lunar economy.
In line with the investment promotion agenda, on 17 June a dedicated panel entitled "Piemonte’s Ecosystem and its Investment Opportunities” will be held at the Paris office of law firm CastaldiPartners, with a select group of international investors. Speakers include Minister Tronzano, Guido Bolatto, and Piemonte Agency’s Chairman Peirone, who will present Piemonte’s investment offering and the region’s investor support tools and services.
At the Paris Air Show, Piemonte showcases its industrial excellence and innovation potential, capitalizing on the global recognition of its aerospace cluster and regional system, both known for their integrated capabilities and ability to attract investments. The regional delegation presents a comprehensive aerospace supply chain tailored to the needs of the Aeronautics, Space, and Defense sectors, offering cutting-edge technologies and products: systems, subsystems, structural and propulsion components and accessories; electronic, electrical, hydraulic and fuel equipment; interiors; flight control and actuation systems; landing gear; MRO and mission customization; 5-axis milling; chemical treatments for metals and space applications; structures and mechanisms, propulsion and RCS; robotics and locomotion; thermal and environmental control.
Also featured is the innovative interactive experience launched at the last International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which highlights the strategic role of Thales Alenia Space and Piemonte companies in major international space programs. Using a state-of-the-art touchscreen equipped with the latest CGI (Computer Graphics Interface) technology, visitors can explore key collaborative projects through an intuitive 3D platform, manipulating space models in 360°. Video and photographic content further enrich the experience, spotlighting Piemonte’s technical and manufacTorinog excellence in globally significant missions such as the International Space Station (ISS), the Artemis program, and the Euclid mission—all NASA initiatives.
The show also serves as a platform to invite the global aerospace business community to the 10th edition of Aerospace & Defense Meetings Torino, scheduled for 2–4 December 2025—the only international aerospace convention in Italy. Topics on the agenda will include sustainability, big data, advanced air mobility, and the space economy. The event will conclude with the second Lunar Economy Summit, focused on investment strategies for lunar development, cross-sector partnerships, enabling technologies and skills, and sustainable human presence on the Moon.
Piemonte plays a central role on the global stage thanks to the presence of major aerospace industry leaders—Leonardo, Avio Aero, Thales Alenia Space, Altec, Microtecnica Actuation Systems, and Mecaer Aviation Group—alongside a robust network of over 450 SMEs, 35,000 highly skilled employees, and a total turnover of €8 billion (source: 2023 analysis by Ceipiemonte and Piemonte Aerospace District, based on 2022 data).
Together, these players offer international partners a fully integrated supply chain, backed by advanced technologies, technical expertise, and high-end manufacTorinog.
Now in its 55th edition, the Paris Air Show is a global reference point for strategic partnerships in Civil Aviation, Defense, and Space—an essential venue for doing business with the international aerospace community, identifying technical partners, and staying up to date on advanced technologies, processes, supply chain management models, and industry trends. In 2023, the biennial event hosted 2,500 exhibitors from 48 countries, 300 startups from 21 nations, and over 300,000 visitors, including 130,000 professionals from 184 countries, 322 official delegations from 97 countries, 1,900 journalists, and 210 aircraft in static and flying displays. Orders announced during the show totaled $150 billion.
For Piemonte companies, it remains an unmissable appointment in their internationalization strategy—following their 2024 presence at Aeromart Toulouse, Aircraft Interiors Expo, WTCE – World Travel Catering & Onboard Services, Farnborough International Air Show, and IAC – International Astronautical Congress, and leading up to the upcoming Aerospace & Defense Meetings Torino in December.
