FILM INDUSTRY IN PIEMONTE
Piemonte is the birthplace of Italy’s first cinemas and pioneering films, television, telephone and IT industries. Located inside Torino’s picturesque Mole Antonelliana, Piemonte is also home to the internationally famous Italian National Museum of Cinema which is also a hub for cultural initiatives of national and international standing. For all these reasons, Piemonte has rightly earned the status of cradle of the Italian cinema industry.
According to Torino Piemonte Film Commission, in 2024 the region oversaw over 220 productions and 1,050 days of filming, 19 feature films, including many first and second works, as well as other supported genres: 26 documentaries, 55 short films and 122 commercials, TV formats and music videos. This remarkable achievement highlights the region’s pivotal role in shaping the entertainment landscape.
